Vítor Pereira signs as new Wolverhampton coach

Wolverhampton Wanderers today made official the incorporation of Vítor Pereria as new coach until June 2026. The 56-year-old Portuguese coach leaves his position at Al-Shabab of the Saudi Pro League, for which the Saudi club will receive approximately 1 million pounds for the conclusion of the contract.

The Wolves are having a very tough season. They have lost 4 of their last 5 games and currently occupy the penultimate place in the standings with only 9 points. All of this has led to the dismissal of Gary O’Neil and the search for a new coach in whom to place all hopes of reversing the dynamic.

Vítor Pereria has also coached teams such as Flamengo, Corinthians, Shanghai Port, 1860 Munich, Olympiacos, Al-Ahli, Porto, Santa Clara and Fenerbahçe throughout his career. Now he embarks on a new adventure, this time in the Premier League.

President Jeff Shi wanted to welcome him, showing his optimism and confidence in the newly arrived coach: “Vítor is a highly respected and experienced coach who has achieved success in different leagues and will bring a new approach to the upcoming test. He is a difficult moment for the club and we want to thank Vítor for assuming this responsibility. We fully trust his ability to guide us back on the right path.”
