Wesley Fofana suffers another injury again. The Chelsea defense has the affected corva tendon and what remains of the season will be lost. The London club confirmed on its website that its player was successfully subjected to surgery.
Fofana was damaged the same area in a meeting against Aston Villa on December 1 and spent three months. The central was reinstated last month and only played two games before the international break. He stayed out of the call against Tottenham after falling from the same injury.
Chelsea added in the statement that the footballer “rehabilitation will begin with the club’s doctors in the coming weeks.” Hard stick for the player who since arriving at the team has not been able to enjoy the continuity he wanted. He arrived at Chelsea in the 22/23 season and suffered a knee injury as soon as the season began. He would fall again days after returning. Only that course played 12 games.
His most serious injury came the next campaign. Fofana broke the crossed ligament in preseason and spent the season blank. The Frenchman adds a total of 564 days injured as since he signed for Chelsea. The injuries have prevented Fofana from teaching all its great potential as a footballer. When the central has been physically, Maresca has fully trusted him as a starter. The injuries go back to Fofana that says goodbye to the season.
