Minutes after the elimination of Manchester United at the hands of Fulham, the FA Cup already knew the quarterfinals. In the absence of the duel between Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town (this Monday, 20: 30h), the four matches of the quarterfinals are already known. It was pure draw, and will be a single game.
Fulham vs Crystal Palace
Preston vs Aston Villa
Bournemouth vs Man City
Brighton vs Nottm Forest/Ipswich
The bombing of the raffle was the Bournemouth vs Manchester City. Duel of Spanish technicians, and the hardest opponent that could touch City beyond Aston Villa. The ‘cherries’ of Iraola are setting a great season, and will also be local in these quarterfinals. They had never come so far in the FA Cup.
On the other hand, the Aston Villa de Emery (I live in Champions League) has three open fronts this season and will visit the Preston North End field, the only ‘non-premier team that is still alive at this point. Championship’s are the great surprise of the tournament after the elimination of Plymouth.
The four round of 16 qualifiers are scheduled for the weekend of March 29 and 30.
