The Salah-Liverpool soap opera is over: he will sign for two more years

Liverpool and Mohamed Salah see the light at the end of the tunnel: he will renew with the Reds for two more years. According to The Mirror, both club and player have reached an agreement to extend their contract until June 2027.

One of the issues that most concerned the network environment was the renewal of one of its fundamental pillars. There had been a lot of speculation about the Egyptian’s departure. Apparently, after months of negotiations, the club’s owners have reached an agreement.

Even the player himself was disappointed with the club’s attitude in not receiving any offer last November. Mo Salah made some statements after the match against Southampton, in which Liverpool came back thanks to a double from the Egyptian, which left the striker’s continuity at Liverpool in doubt: “I’m more outside than inside.”

After eight years of relationship between Salah and Liverpool, it seemed that the paths between the two were parting ways. Salah’s agent, Rammy Abbas, informed the Anfield board that they were seeking a three-year contract. However, the club was initially only willing to offer a one-year extension at the end of the current contract, scheduled to end next summer, according to the English media.

The Egyptian never tires of breaking records

At 32 years old, he is having a brilliant season. After entering the select group of the 10 top scorers in Premier League history with 169 goals, the Egyptian’s ceiling has no limits. Recently, in the draw against Newcastle, his double and assist to Curtis Jones allowed him to surpass Wayne Rooney’s 36 performances in the competition with goals and assists with 214 fewer games than the Englishman.

Unless a last-minute setback arises, Salah will continue wearing the elastic net for two more years and will continue writing his history at Anfield.
