The ‘duel’ between the PGA and the LIV in Las Vegas will distribute the first sports prize in cryptocurrencies

The first cryptocurrency prize at a sporting event will be awarded in golf. On December 17, in Las Vegas, the Crypto.com Showdown will be held, a tournament that will pit Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, from the PGA Tour, and Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, from LIV Golf.

The tournament will be played over 18 holes at the Shadow Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas under the format of match play and not stroke play. The event is organized by BZ Entertainment and EverWonder Studio who were seeking sponsorship of between 8 and 10 million dollars. It has arrived from the hand of Crypto.com. Before their entry, it was already speculated that each of the four golfers was going to receive a minimum of 4 million for playing.
