The boycott of Bayern fans lowers the price of visiting tickets against Shakhtar

The Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Shakhtar Donetsk has not yet started, but fans of the German club can already talk about a first victory. After expressing their complaints about the high price to go to the Gelsenkirchen Stadium as a visiting fan, the Ukrainian club has given in and lowered the prices.

The fan boycott works

The pressure that began 10 days ago due to what they considered exorbitant prices to attend as visiting fans has had an effect. Now, Bayern Munich fans will have popular prices to go to the Schalke stadium where the Ukrainians play their games, as announced in an official statement: “Tickets can be requested from now until Monday, November 18 at 5:00 p.m. under more favorable conditions through the FC Bayern web store,” the club made official.

The fans of the Bavarian team were planning to travel en masse to see the match against the Ukrainian team, but given the 36,000 cancellations that Bayern had recorded due to ticket prices, they had to turn back. A movement that aims to recover all those people for the match on December 10: “The change in ticket prices aims to give all fans – including those who have already canceled their ticket request – the opportunity to submit a new application,” reads the statement.

The price change: from 52 to 26 euros

Initially the Ukrainian club had sold tickets at 52 euros per person for visiting fans, but the boycott of the tickets has managed to reduce the price by half. Now anyone who wants to watch the game in the standing stands can do so for 26 euros and in the seated stands for 45 euros. A draw for tickets that will begin next Tuesday, November 19, and which has meant a victory for the fans of Bayern Munich.
