Mexican golfer Carlos Ortiz was proclaimed winner of the international series of Macao Macao tournament, a tournament corresponding to the Asian circuit. The first three classified achieved a direct place for the next British Open, so both the winner and Patrick Reed and Jason Kokrak achieved this goal, but not the Spanish Sergio García, who stayed at a blow to enter the podium. Classification
Ortiz, who already sent in the classification in the opening of the final day, not only maintained the good line but also in the group of the second players that completed the best performance, only behind the Thai Poom Saksansin. He did it by signing a 64 -impact card, with four ‘Birdies’ and a ‘double birdie’ in the twelve hole.
That allowed him to expand the rent with Reed, second at the close of the previous day, and with Kokrak. Both concluded with 67 blows, the first with three ‘Birdies’ without penalties and the second with two ‘bogeys’ in the last five flags after having previously signed five ‘Birdies’, three of them consecutive between 4 and 6.
On the other hand Sergio García finished fourth (265 blows), without punishment bogeys and with five ‘Birdies’, four of them between holes 8 and 13. The Castellonense was missing another Birdie or a Kokrak error to have achieved the goal that had been raised for this week. As for David Puig, the other Spaniard who spent the cut, ended away from the head with 276 impacts, 69 the last day ‘cloud’ for a ‘double bogey’ in the penultimate hole.
In this way, Ortiz achieves the second title of his career in the circuit after having won, in February 2024, the Oman Tournament. In addition, next to him, they also get a place for the British Open Reed and Kokrak.
