Deepak Raj Joshi of the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) has been elected president of the Free Student Union (FSU) at Tribhuvan University Central Campus. He won by 8 votes, narrowly defeating Siddhant Bhatt of the UML-affiliated ANNFSU. The election was held on Monday using electronic voting machines, allowing for a swift result announcement. The election was previously delayed due to a legal dispute, but the Patan High Court’s ruling allowed it to proceed as scheduled. Out of over 6,000 registered student voters, only half participated in the election. The final results show: NSU (Deepak Raj Joshi) – 789 votes, ANNFSU (Siddhant Bhatt) – 781 votes, ANNFSU-Revolutionary (Prabin Dahal) – 727 votes, Independent (Padma Bhusal) – 166 votes, Independent (Ujjwal Khadka) – 717 votes.
