The South African Dylan Naidoo has been awarded the triumph in the Open of South Africa, of the DP World Tour, after imposing himself in a play-off on only one hole with the Englishman Laurie Canter, since the intense rain falls over Durban, headquarters of the tournament, prevented the last day from celebrating normally.
The rain, which had already altered the course of the tournament the previous days, today forced the organization to suspend the day for the flood of the field and to solve the title in a tiebreaker between Naidoo and Canter, which shared the leadership after three days, with 202 blows, 14 under par.
Finally, Dylan Naidoo, 27, was able to celebrate his first victory in the circuit against Canter with a Birdie in hole 18 with a torque 4 (3-4), in which he had already done the first two days, before making a couple in the third.
The Spaniards Alejandro del Rey and Iván Cantero finished in 25th position with 209 blows, 7 under par, and Jorge Campillo in 46, with 212, 4 under the pair of the field.
