Antonio shared with rescuers Rob Moon and Dr. James Moloney during the ‘Morning Live’ program of the BBC. During the meeting, the Caribbean showed all his thanks to the specialists of the air ambulance service of the town of Essex and Hearts (Ehatt, for its acronym in English).

“I want to tell you thanks because it would not be here if it were not for you, so you are basically my heroes,” the ‘Hammers’ attacker said in a quite moved tone.

In addition, the former Nottingham Forest expressed his deep admiration for the work done by paramedics. “For my part, personally, I could never do your job,” he said.

Michail Antonio recalled that at the time of being treated by the lifeguards he was recognized by both of them thanks to a shirt with the number ‘9’ that was at his feet and that being conscious he talked about football with them while they prepared their transfer towards a hospital.

“We treat everyone equally whatever happens. But not many people wear a shirt with their name on the back,” said Dr. Moloney, remembering that day.

The figure of West Ham also revealed that following the accident he suffered in England he has had to deal with the physical and mental effects, noting that the hardest thing for him was to see his family visiting him in the hospital.
