Maverick McNealy wins his first title on the PGA Tour at The RSM Classic

The American Maverick McNealy won this Sunday in The RSM Classic, played since Thursday at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia (USA), to achieve his first title on the PGA Tour of golf.

A birdie on the last hole gave the final victory to McNealy, 29, and prevented the possibility of playing a playoff against three other players who finished within one hit: the Colombian Nico Echavarría and the also Americans Daniel Berger and the amateur Luke Clanton.

Maverick Scott McNealy finished the tournament with 266 strokes (16 under par) and four rounds of 62, 70, 66 and 68.

After the win, McNealy said “I’m shaking. I feel like I could run a marathon absolutely exhausted. But the adrenaline is incredible. My family is here. My whole team is watching. I’m so happy to have made it for them.”

Nico Echavarría was close to signing his third title on the circuit and the second of 2024.
