Loris Karius already has a new team. The German goalkeeper, who was a free agent after his last experience at Newcastle, will put on the gloves again. He has signed for the historic Schalke 04, now sunk in the German Second Division after a serious sporting crisis from which he is unable to get out. He has signed until the end of the season.
“The negotiations with the club’s representatives have gone very well and I am looking forward to training with the team. Schalke 04 is a great club with a very passionate fan base, something that I have already felt in my previous visits here as a player,” he declared. Karius himself after signing.
In Germany he played in the youth squad of Stuttgart, Mainz and Union Berlin. From Mainz he moved to Liverpool where his unfortunate performances began.
Karius, 31, signs for a Schalke 04 in deep crisis. They are only six points above the relegation places to Germany’s Third Division. And they have already accumulated three seasons in the last four years in the Second Division, becoming an elevator team far from the elite they achieved in the past.
