López, 21 years old, abandoned amateurism a few weeks ago to be able to participate in this event. That made it difficult for her to miss the Spanish Open as a guest, but the young woman from Benahavís, who studies Business Administration and Management at Mississippi State University, was very clear about her path.
The American route was the only one that Julia contemplated and, although she reached number one in the world in the amateur ranking, she wanted to become ‘pro’ to try to join the LPGA or, in the worst case, start from the Epson Tour (former Symetra). . López has won everything in the lower categories of the national team and has burned through stages by leaps and bounds because his level on the field has allowed it. Azahara Muñoz also shined in a fifth round split in two days on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course.
