Defending champion Argentina has secured its place in the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be held in North America.
Argentina qualified even before playing against Brazil, as the match between Uruguay and Bolivia ended in a goalless draw.
In the South American qualifiers, which include 10 teams, six teams qualify directly for the World Cup.
After playing 13 matches, Argentina is at the top of the table with 28 points, six points ahead of the second-place team.
Argentina is the first South American team to qualify for the World Cup, which will take place in the USA, Mexico, and Canada next year.
Currently, Argentina is playing against Brazil in the qualifiers.
So far, seven teams, including the three host nations, have qualified for the tournament. Japan and Iran have secured their spots from Asia, while New Zealand has qualified from Oceania.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 teams.
