Antoine Rozner leads in Dubai in the finale of the DP World Tour

The Frenchman Antoine Rozner leads the DP World Tour Championship, the closing tournament of the season that is played at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, after the dispute of the second day, in which he was the best of the participants with a total of 65 strokes, seven under par for the course.

Rozner, who finished with 70 hits on the first day and has a total of 135, finished his round without penalties and with seven birdies, three of them consecutively between holes 14 and 16. This result allowed him to advance in the classification to the Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and the British Tyrrell Hatton, who were in charge after the opening lap.

In the case of McIlroy, who aspires to equal the record of the Spaniard Seve Ballesteros of six wins in the final overall of the European golf circuit, he finished with five birdies and two bogeys while Hatton had four birdies and one ‘bogey’, with which both accumulate a total of -8.

Jorge Campillo and Adrián Otaegui are the two best Spaniards, with -4, after equaling this day with a card with 69 strokes, while Nacho Elvira is twenty-first with -2 after making par (72) and Ángel Hidalgo forty-sixth with +5.

Until this tournament ends, McIlroy leads the circuit table with 4,997.7 points. Behind him, at 1,785.02, is the South African Thriston Lawrence, absent in Dubai. Then the Danish Rasmus Hojgaard (2,684); Horschel (2,480) and Waring (2,467.7).

With 2,000 points up for grabs, McIlroy only needs a top-ten finish to secure his sixth career Race to Dubai crown, equaling Ballesteros’ record.
