The ‘Rashford soap opera’ still has many chapters left to write. And, if on Sunday he was left out of the ‘Manchester Derby’ against City, Rúben Amorim has once again called off the English attacker for United’s visit to Tottenham in search of a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Furthermore, the decision comes just a few days after Rashford publicly showed his disagreement with leaving Old Trafford in the coming months… or weeks. But this drastic decision is surprising after Amorim himself declared that he wanted to “recover his best version.”
For now, he will have to wait for it… and the Portuguese coach has offered his vision on the matter: “Why is Marcus Rashford out? It’s my choice. “I chose the players who I felt were prepared to face the demands of playing a strong game,” he said before the match.
The one who has returned, however, has been Garnacho… although he will have to wait for his opportunity on the bench. We will see if Rashford has a chance next Sunday against Iraola’s Bournemouth. At least, to say goodbye to Old Trafford in the face of what seems like an imminent departure.
