On Vuelta 26, Fernando Alonso saw the opportunity to advance Bortoleto, but the Brazilian – apparently without seeing it – closed the outside at the last moment.
Alonso’s millimeter save
Alonso had won the position on the line to the Kick Sauber pilot, but when he reached the braking point, Bortoleto moved outward to draw the curve. The Asturian had to pull reflexes to avoid contact and went out of the track briefly.
“It has moved under braking, that was close. Check the car,” Aston Martin’s pilot released on the radio. The Brazilian pilot showed the white flag with black.
Gabriel Bortoleto is represented by the A14 Management agency, founded by Alonso himself.
