A move ‘made in’ Bryan Zaragoza

The play that caused the penalty against Switzerland, which would ultimately mean Bryan Zaragoza’s winning goal, has its origins in the streets of Malaga. The winger already left rivals on the road when he was a youth and copied that ‘footprint’ in futsal.

Bryan combined soccer and ‘Futsal’ until youth. As a result of that learning in 40×20, one of his ‘brand of the house’ plays was born. Barça already suffered it in El Sadar and during Spain-Switzerland, it was definitive again.

The Atlético Carranque FS club witnessed the evolution of a boy who made up for the lack of ‘body’ with devilish drives and dribbles that are born in street soccer.

His coach at that time, Alejandro Chaves, remembers the young Zaragoza he coached in his youth. “He was very shy but a very good boy. He loved football and from the first moment I saw something different in him,” says Álex.

“Despite being a street child, he was very disciplined. His personality was brutal, he didn’t care about facing much older rivals, he always loved her and faced her again and again,” explained Chaves.
