Gulsan Jha Breaks World Record, Joins Cricket Legends

Biratchowk, Nepal: Nepal’s young all-rounder, Gulsan Jha, has etched his name in the history books by setting a new world record. In a recent ICC World Cup League-2 match against Oman, Jha took five wickets and scored a half-century in a single ODI inning.

This extraordinary performance has placed him in an elite company alongside cricket legends like Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi. At the tender age of 18 years and 214 days, Jha surpassed the previous record held by Pakistan’s Abdul Razzaq, who accomplished the same feat in 2000.

Jha’s achievement is even more impressive considering the caliber of players who have previously held the record. West Indies’ Chris Gayle and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi, both renowned for their explosive batting and occasional bowling prowess, had previously achieved this feat.

In addition to his world record, Gulsan Jha also became the first player to score a half-century and take five wickets in a single match in the ICC World Cup League-2. He joins a select group of 24 players worldwide who have accomplished this remarkable feat in ODI cricket.

Despite Nepal’s narrow loss to Oman by one wicket, Jha’s outstanding performance earned him the player of the match award. His contributions with both bat and ball have solidified his reputation as one of the rising stars of Nepali cricket.
