A match in England is suspended due to excessive goose droppings on the pitch

The match that West Allotment Celtic, from the English Ninth Division, was to have played on Friday night, was suspended at the last minute when an excess of goose droppings was found on the grass.

The duel, corresponding to the Northern Football League Division One, the ninth category of English football, was suspended twenty minutes before kick-off when bird droppings were found during the warm-up.

“Our most sincere apologies to those who attended the game tonight, please keep the ticket as we will try to make up for tonight’s disappointment. To clarify, goose droppings were found on the grass during the warm-up, something that was not there never happened,” the club said in a statement.

The English club has taken it with humor and has launched a raffle in which participants can win a bottle of “El Ganso Gris” brand vodka and those who buy at least five tickets will win a t-shirt with the inscription “I helped to save a team from the geese.”
