English referee David Coote, who recently refereed Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa, is being investigated for his alleged drug use during the last European Championship in Germany.
The newspaper ‘The Sun’ has published a video that was recorded in a hotel in Germany during the Euro Cup dispute, in which he was one of those in charge of the VAR, in which David Coote is seen inhaling a white powder.
In the eight-second WhatsApp video, Coote is seen, eyes wide, using a rolled-up dollar to snort a thin white line that could be cocaine.
The video was recorded by himself on July 6, a day after the Euro 2024 quarter-final clash between France and Portugal in which Coote was on the VAR.

On Coote’s bedside table you can see, along with the white powder, packets of prescription medications, a credit card and the novel ‘The Year of the Locust’ by Terry Hayes.
