Rozner, McIlroy and Hojgaard share the lead in Dubai

The Frenchman Antoine Rozner, the Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and the Danish Rasmus Hojgaard share the lead at the end of the penultimate day of the DP World Tour Championship being held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), the last tournament of the season, with a total card of 204 hits (-12).

Hojgaard, 58th in the world, was the best of the third session with a total of 66 strokes, six under par for the field, and was at the top of the table along with Rozner, first after the second day, and McIlroy, number 3 in the world and is trying to equal Seve Ballesteros’ record of six overall wins on the European golf circuit.

McIlroy, to match Seve

Rozner, with two ‘bogyes’, righted his performance with an ‘eagle’ on the last hole at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, completing the field in three strokes under par, which allowed him to remain at the top of the table and continue as the revelation of the tournament, which he reached as 158th in the world. McIlroy, leader of the DP World Tour ranking, signed four strokes under par on the course, with six birdies and two bogeys.

With 2,000 points at stake for the winner, the Northern Irishman only needs to finish in the top ten to secure the sixth crown of his career in the ‘Race to Dubai’, which would equal Ballesteros’ mark. Among the Spaniards, the best classified is Adrián Otaegui, with 210 strokes (-6), while Jorge Campillo has 214 (-2).
