The former Madrid golf player Juan Carlos Piñero, brother of Manuel Piñero, one of the great figures of this sport in Spain, died yesterday, Saturday, at the age of 59 due to a long illness, reports the Association of Golf Professionals of Spain in your website.
Juan Carlos Piñero competed for thirteen seasons on the European circuit between 1982, a year after turning professional, and 2006, in which he participated in 74 tournaments.
In 1996, he obtained his best results, with a second place in the Hohe Brucke tournament in Austria and sixth in the one in Catalonia, to which he added victory in Open El Cortés Inglés, on the Challenge Tour, in 1994 and in eight competitions of the national circuit.
Also brother of another golf player, Alfonso, he retired from competition in 2016 due to the illness he suffered after participating in the 2016 Spanish Senior Professional Championship in Almería.
