The footballer Luca Meixner, a player for SSV Reutlingen of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg (fifth division of German football), has died at the age of 22.
The young German footballer, who played his last match for SSV Reutlingen on December 7, was found dead in his home.
The cause of Luca Meixner’s death is still unclear and the local police investigation department is analyzing various hypotheses.

“Last weekend we received the terrible news that our player Luca Meixner passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 27 at the age of 22. The entire SSV family is deeply shocked and saddened. His teammates, all the members of The Board of Directors and employees mourn with Luca’s family, and our thoughts are with his family, friends and relatives,” SSV Reutlingen reported.
Luca Meixner, who is part of the SSV Reutlingen first team (he went through all of their youth categories), had a contract until 2025.
